Iceland 4×4, 3-10 September 2020

Day 1 (3.09)

After arriving to Keflavik we pick up our cars and continue to Reykjavik's city camping.

Day 2 (4.09)

In the morning we are heading towards Þingvellir national park. On the road we are stopping at a supermarket for grocery shoopping and than continue towards Langjokull glacier. Here we can walk on the glacier surface and enjoy the incredible views from the top of the mountain. In the evening we proceed to the camping near Hraunfossar.

Day 3 (5.09)

From Hraunfossar we are heading nurth back on the tarmac and after few momend driving on national road number 1 we turn south towards Hveravellir hot spring where we spend the night. Hot spring bathing is possible at this location.

Day 4 (6.09)

Crossing Iceland south we are stopping at the Golden Waterfal - Gullfos and Iceland's biggest geyser - Strokkur. After that we are gowing towards Landmannalaugar, where we are going to stay for 2 nights.

Day 5 (7.09)

We spend the entire day at Landmannalaugar taking advantages of local attractions, hor river bathing, trekking along the colorful mountains and lava fields.

Day 6 (8.09)

From Landmannalaugar we are going south and after crossing numerous rivers and springs we approach route 1 again but in the south this time. Heading east we visit the Reynisfjara blacjk beach with the impressive Reynisdrangar seastacks. Next point on the list is the Dyrhólaey hill with an amazing view at the black sand beach and the remote mountains. For the night we camp at Skogar at hte feet of Skogafoss.

Day 7 (9.09)

From Skogar we are driving to Þórsmörk for the last night.

Day 8 (10.09)

Heading back to Keflavik on the south route of Reykjanes peninsula. Saying good by to Iceland at the cliffs of Reykjanesta.
